Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek bachchan finally got engaged in Mumbai on Monday after days in being in Media. Just after they both landed in Mumbai from Toronto after the premiere of the movie Guru, at Bachchan’s residence, the engagement ceremony took place.

Both the family members were present for the ceremony and Amitabh Bachchan’s close friend Amar Singh was also present there. Abhishek proposed to aishwarya just after the premiere of Guru in New York and Aiswarya accepted it on the spot.

Aishwarya’s media manager confirmed into the media about the engagement and said that he can not talk more about it at present. It is supposed that marraige will be taking place on 19th. feb 2007 but the date is not confirmed yet.

These both celebrities first acted together in the movie “Kuch na kaho” in 2003, after which they both became closer which led to split between aishwarya and vivek oberoi(Her last Boyfriend) in 2005.

Earlier, Abhishek was once engaged to Karishma Kapoor but which broke and Karishma married Delhi-based industrialist Sanjay Kapoor in September 2003. Amithab Bachchan’s brother Ajithab went to an astrologer in Feb. 2006 and had enquired about the match of horoscopes of Aishwarya and Abhshek.

Now finally the Rais and Bachchans get united and they are blessed well by god.
